LOLER/PUWER Inspections - R&W Plant Hire

WHAT IS LOLER/ PUWER TESTING?

LOLER stands for the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (1998). These regulations were put in place to ensure the safe use of lifting equipment in various industries.

LOLER inspections involve the examination and thorough testing of lifting equipment to ensure it is safe to use. Our inspections are all carried out by a competent person who has been certified by a competent authority to perform the thorough testing. Our team has the necessary expertise and knowledge to assess the equipment’s condition and identify any potential safety issues.

Lifting Equipment Inspection & Testing Services Provided Include:

– LOLER Inspections

– Lifting Accessory Examination

– On Site Lifting accessory testing

– Proof Load Testing

We provide professional, helpful advice on any technical or legislative requirements for lifting equipment testing to ensure you are always compliant with the ever changing legislation in the industry.

During the LOLER inspection, our certified tester will examine the lifting equipment and assess its condition. They may carry out a range of tests, such as load testing, non-destructive testing, and visual inspections. If any defects or issues are identified, they will be documented, and recommendations for repairs or maintenance will be made.

It is important for businesses and organisations to comply with LOLER regulations and ensure that their lifting equipment is regularly inspected. Non-compliance can lead to legal consequences, as well as the risk of accidents, injuries, or damage to property.

In a climate of change and social value, how do we lead with sustainability?

The need to change our approach for the sake of humanity have long been thought about; the impacts of climate change are widespread, rapid and intensifying. Yet too often, as an industry (Construction), we’re designing and building the same way and utilising similar methods of construction and plant & Machinery as we were decades ago. As a business we need to future-proof our ways of working – for the sake of our people, our clients and the planet. This means adopting more sustainable ways of operating to align with civil engineering requirements and social value expectations.

At R&W we are currently striving to improve our social impact in communities around the UK, but there is a lot to do.

The sustainability objectives for R&W for the next 5 years are,

  1. Proactive achievement of carbon targets to align with the UK carbon emissions reduction targets.
  2. Resources conserved by embracing renewable or circular solutions.
  3. Embrace social sustainability in the areas we work.
  4. Minimise Ecological damage and enhance biodiversity
  5. Minimise waste in our areas of work.
